The 2025 NCAA Men’s Tournament continued with the Elite Eight on Saturday night!

First, No. 1 seed Florida used a late 18-4 run to avoid the upset attempt from third-seeded Texas Tech. The Gators returned to the Final Four for the first time since 2014 and will play the winner of Michigan State-Auburn.

Later, No. 1 seed Duke flexed its muscles and imposed it dominance against two-seeded Alabama. The Blue Devils made their first Final Four under head coach Jon Scheyer and will play the winner of Tennessee-Houston.

Here are Saturday’s highlights!

FINAL: Duke 85, Alabama 65

Duke didn’t leave much of a doubt, dominating Alabama from start to finish. Four of the five Blue Devils’ starters scored 14 or more points, with Kon Knueppel leading the way with 21. Freshman Cooper Flagg ended with 16 points and nine rebounds. The Blue Devils earned their first Final Four berth in the Jon Scheyer era and their 18th of all time.

SECOND HALF

Flagg flexes on Mark Sears after backing him down and hitting the post shot. Duke is putting the finishing touches on this one.

Duke’s putting the clamps on. The Blue Devils have held the Crimson Tide to just five points over the last five minutes. They lead 72-58 are four minutes away from a trip back to the Final Four.

Tyrese Proctor stays patient and probes for the inside-hand layup. That came one possession after he hit a mid-range jump shot. The junior has 14 points and is 6-of-9 from the field as the Blue Devils lead 63-50.

Grant Nelson meets Flagg at the summit to block his dunk attempt, and then the ball is pushed ahead to Sears for a corner 3-pointer, his first triple of the night. Chris Youngblood made a layup on the next possession to make it 52-45.

FIRST HALF

Flagg meanders through the lane for nifty and-1, but Nelson has the last basket to close the half. He grabs a pass from Sears for a layup to make the score 46-37.

Sears finds Nelson on the pick-and-roll and Nelson slams it home to cut the Blue Devils’ margin to single-digits. Nelson, then, dunks another one off a pass from Labaron Philon.

Duke has extended its lead in the minutes that Flagg is sitting on the bench. Khaman Maluach jams an alley-oop off a pass from Kon Knueppel and, a few possessions later, blocks Sears at the rim. The Blue Devils are up 30-19.

Freshman Aiden Sherrell connects on consecutive 3-point attempts to help Alabama stay close in the opening minutes.

Proctor has the last five for Duke. He hits a 3-pointer and then steals Sears’ pass and turns it into a fast-break layup to put the Blue Devils up 13-5.

FINAL: Florida 84, Texas Tech 79

Florida went on an 18-4 run over the last three minutes of the second half to ruin Texas Tech’s upset hopes. All-American guard Walter Clayton Jr. erupted in the last minute, knocking down two contested 3-point shots. Big man Thomas Haugh stepped out beyond the arc and added two more crucial triples in the waning moments. Clayton was 3-of-10 from the field midway through the second half, but connected on his last four shots and went 13-of-14 from the line on a 30-point night.

SECOND HALF

Walter Clayton Jr. is clutch. He hit a turnaround 3-pointer to restore a 1-point Florida advantage.

Thomas Haugh burnt the Red Raiders’ soft close-outs with consecutive 3-point shots to bring the Gators back within three. Then, Walter Clayton Jr. hit a left-wing triple to tie the game back up at 75.

J.T. Toppin started the game 4-of-15, but has scored four points over the last two minutes to sustain the Red Raiders’ 10-point advantage.

Darrion Williams is dominating on the inside. First, he takes Alex Condon into the paint, and then he backs down Thomas Haugh and banks in the hook shot. Texas Tech has its biggest lead of the night, 67-57, and Williams has a team-high 17 points.

Alijah Martin parlays the long rebound into a breakaway dunk to tie the game at 55.

Texas Tech has held Florida without a field goal for the first six minutes of the second half and takes a 48-44 lead.

FIRST HALF

Thomas Haugh just grabbed the loose ball off a steal from Walter Clayton Jr. and took it the other way for a dunk. The Gators’ big man has a game-high 12 points off the bench and Florida holds a 40-37 lead at halftime.

The Red Raiders have made six of their first seven 3-point shot attempts. Elijah Hawkins just stepped back to hit a left-wing triple over Haugh to put Texas Tech up five.

Florida has answered back with a 10-0 run. Will Richard blocked Chance McMillian’s shot and then came around a screen to hit a mid-range jumper off an inbound play. The Gators lead 15-11.

Texas Tech is benefiting from its activity on the boards again. The Red Raiders already have a pair of second-chance 3-pointers in the first three minutes and hold a 9-5 lead.

UPDATE: Texas Tech guard Chance McMillian is available for Saturday’s game against Florida.

McMillian hasn’t played since sustaining an upper-body injury against Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament on March 13.
