Nikola Jokić is a 3-time winner of the Kia NBA MVP.

The Denver Nuggets have had three MVP awards in the history of the franchise, but it’s worth noting that the winner has been the same player each time.

We’re talking about Nikola Jokić, arguably one of the best players in the NBA over the last five years, and the runner-up in the race for the 2024-25 NBA MVP Award.

Let’s take a look at each of those individual seasons in detail.

Nikola Jokić: 2020-21

The first of three MVP awards won by the Serbian big man, Jokić took the league by storm in this campaign and was rewarded by being named the best player in the association after an impressive string of performances.

He averaged 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists while shooting 56.6% from the floor, 38.8 % from 3-point range and 86.8% from the charity stripe.

He was among the top 10 in the MVP voting in the previous two years.

Nikola Jokić: 2021-22

Jokić took things a step further in the 2021-22 season and won the MVP award for the second season in a row, but this time, he outdid his numbers even further.

Starting in each of his 74 regular-season contests, Jokić averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.9 blocks per game across 33.5 minutes per contest.

His shooting also improved, as he made 58.3% of his shots from the field, but he fell short of carrying the Nuggets to a title once again.

Nikola Jokić: 2023-24

Fresh off winning the 2022-23 NBA title with the Nuggets, Jokić delivered another dominant season in 2023-24 en route to his third MVP-level campaign.

Appearing in all but three of the Nuggets’ 82 regular-season contests, Jokić averaged 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 9.0 assists.

He also averaged 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks and shot 58.3% from the floor.

The star big man couldn’t replicate the title-winning season from 2022-23 and lost in the Western Conference semifinals against the Timberwolves in seven games.
