World record holder in the 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan

World record holder, Tobi Amusan, on Friday produced a standout display at the 2025 Paris Diamond League, clocking a season’s best time of 12.24s to finish second in the women’s 100m hurdles.

The time marks her second-fastest ever, behind only her world record of 12.12s set in 2022.

Amusan came storming through the final metres, closing rapidly on Grace Stark of the United States, who had burst out of the blocks with intent and held on to win with a personal best and meeting record of 12.21s—a time that makes her the fifth-fastest woman ever over the 100m hurdles.

Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent finished third in a swift 12.30s.

This performance represents the latest milestone in a steady and impressive resurgence for the Nigerian star throughout the 2025 season.

Amusan’s campaign began modestly with a fourth-place finish in Xiamen (12.74s) followed by another fourth in Shaoxing (12.66s).

However, she bounced back emphatically with a season-best and meet record 12.45s to claim her first Diamond League win of the year in Rabat last month.
