Burna is widely regarded as the most prolific Afrobeats single currently, while Federer, now retired, is the greatest tennis player of all time for many.
Hence, both of them were on Complex’s Goat Talk show, where they discussed their favourite things and their dislikes.
Burna and Federer on football GOAT
One of the questions the pair tackled was the GOAT debate in football.
Federer took the first turn, naming his favourite players, before conceding that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were the greatest.
The Swiss Tennis legend named Diego Armando Maradona, Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry as his personal favourites, before saying, “Today of course, you can’t go past Messi and Ronaldo.”
On Burna Boy’s turn, he said, “My GOAT soccer player is JJ Okocha.” Federer responded, saying, “I remember JJ Okocha, he scored some great goals,” before Burna completed his three by adding the names of Victor Osimhen and Ronaldinho.
One interesting point of the exchange was when Federer agreed with Burna Boy that Messi and Ronaldo were “unfair,” as they had broken all the records, before the musician reminded the eight-time Wimbledon champion that he had similar devastating dominance in tennis.
