The Houston Rockets host the Golden State Warriors on Sunday in Game 7 of their first-round series.

The Rockets are looking to come back from a 3-1 series deficit and advance to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2020.

Houston won Games 5 and 6 by double digits to force a Game 7.

The team has looked and played confidently since falling down 3-1 and All-Star big man Alperen Sengun believes the Rockets’ three losses in this series have been their own fault.

Sengun told local reporters before Game 7 that “there’s no reason” Houston shouldn’t win on Sunday.

“I don’t think they’ve beaten us this series,” Sengun said. “We beat ourselves, missing free throws and easy shots. When we’re locked in, we’re locked in. We have all the talent in the world. There’s no reason for us to lose this game.”

Sengun is averaging 20.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.3 blocks in the Rockets-Warriors series while shooting 46.3% from the field, 28.6% from 3 and 63.9% from the free-throw line. The 22-year-old is in his first postseason series.

Houston is averaging 106.5 points in this series, while Golden State is averaging 104.2.

The Warriors won Game 1 by 10 points, the Rockets won Game 2 by 15 points, the Warriors won Game 3 by 11 points and Game 4 by three points and the Rockets won Game 5 by 15 points and Game 6 by eight points.

The winner of the Rockets-Warriors series will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round.
