Arsenal have announced the departures of three players whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the current season

Arsenal Women have confirmed the departures of Amanda Ilestedt, Lina Hurtig, and Teyah Goldie as their contracts are set to expire at the end of the current season.

The announcement comes as the club prepares for a summer of change following  disappointing Women’s Super League (WSL) campaign.

Despite high expectations, Arsenal failed to challenge Chelsea, who clinched their sixth consecutive league title.

However, there remains hope for silverware, as Renee Slegers’ side has reached the UEFA Women’s Champions League final, where they will face Barcelona later this month.

Swedish defender Amanda Ilestedt will leave the Gunners after just one season.

She joined from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023 as an experienced replacement for the injured Leah Williamson.

Ilestedt made a strong start, scoring a crucial goal against Chelsea in the WSL and netting a late winner against Southampton in the Continental Cup.

However, she missed significant game time after giving birth in August and has made only sporadic appearances since returning from maternity leave.

Also departing is Ilestedt’s international teammate Lina Hurtig.

The forward arrived in North London from Juventus in 2022 but struggled with persistent injuries throughout her time at the club.

She made 36 appearances and scored seven goals, including a memorable late winner against her former side in the Champions League.

Unfortunately, recurring muscular injuries have limited her involvement this season.

Teyah Goldie, a product of Arsenal’s academy, will also leave upon the expiry of her contract.

The 20-year-old defender has been with the club since the age of six and made her senior debut in an FA Cup tie against Gillingham in 2021.

Despite promising loan spells with Watford and London City Lionesses—where she helped secure the Championship title—her progress was hampered by two serious ACL injuries.

Goldie made six senior appearances for the Gunners and is expected to pursue a permanent move elsewhere.

With the final home match of the season taking place this weekend, more departures are anticipated, as Arsenal look to reshape their squad ahead of the 2025 campaign.

The club’s ambition will be to reclaim the WSL crown and mount another serious challenge in Europe.
