Briana Campbell named NAIA female track athlete of the year

Briana Campbell was named the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Women’s Track Athlete of the Year for the 2025 Outdoor Track & Field season.

Campbell, the former St Jago High athlete who just completed her freshman year at Life University in Georgia, had an outstanding year and closed it with 32 points at the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, sweeping the 100m, 200m and 100m hurdles as well as running a leg on Life’s runner-up 4×100 relay team — all in the span of about two and a half hours.

She lowered her own NAIA record in the 100m hurdles to 13.01 seconds, her third NAIA record in the event this year, beating the previous record holder, Salieci Myles of William Carey, in the process.

Her wind-legal best this year in the 200m of 23.23 places her fifth all-time in NAIA history, and she had the year’s fastest 100 all-conditions NAIA performance at 11.38w with her win at the NAIA Championships.
