Even though Chelsea’s form was up and down in the 2024/25 season, it turned out to be a memorable one.

The Blues wrapped up a long campaign by finishing fourth in the Premier League to seal Champions League qualification.

On top of that, they also won both the Conference League and the Club World Cup to collect two pieces of silverware.

It turned out to be a very successful debut year for Enzo Maresca, 45, as the head coach at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca’s main target at Chelsea next season is to secure Champions League qualification again.

We would expect it to be hard to silence the expectation and excitement around the talented young squad of players, though.

Chelsea’s success last season makes them even more desirable

Chelsea have become a footballing powerhouse in the 21st century, signing some of the world’s best stars over and over again.

However, they may have just had a renewed boost from what they achieved last season.

According to The Telegraph, the fact that Chelsea won the Club World Cup and qualified for next year’s Champions League has elevated them in the eyes of players based outside England.

Chelsea were always taking the Club World Cup seriously because of the financial benefits of the summer tournament.

It’s turned out that it could be huge for new signings, too, because players overseas are more attracted to the project in West London.

How many more signings do Chelsea need?

If Chelsea are popular globally right now, perhaps now is the time to strike while the iron is hot in the transfer market.

In fairness, the Blues squad is finally coming together as it gels into something with major potential.

It may need some tweaks to get competing against the very best teams on a consistent basis next term.

Chelsea have discussed two more signings, one offensive and one defensive, to improve Maresca’s squad.
