After two years of marriage, country singers Jay Allen and Kylie Morgan have announced their divorce.

Allen announced the news via Instagram on Tuesday.

“It’s with peace in my heart that I feel it’s time to share this,” Allen wrote.

“Kylie and I separated six months ago and made the decision to get divorced.”

Allen added that he’s been focusing on “sobriety, healing, growing, leaning into God” and has “moved on.”

“I will always care for Kylie and wish her the best,” the Instagram post reads. “GOD’S PLAN IS GREATER. *Proverbs 3:5-6.”

The couple have been absent from each other’s social media pages for months, according to Taste of Country.

While Morgan has not released a direct statement regarding the split, she has been consistently posting a series of songs on Instagram.

These tracks, she states, are inspired by stories others have shared with her.

Among these posts is a song addressing “the ones who were gaslighted and made to believe they were ‘the problem,’” as well as a track titled “trophy wife,” which Morgan said addresses women growing up in small towns where “the normal” is “to get married young immediately have babies and if you weren’t married and a mom by 29 then you felt ‘behind.’”

“I’ve learned in my late twenties that everyone is on their own path, timeline and something you felt that happened to you can actually happen for you,” she added.

“Thank you to all of you for continuing to trust me to tell your stories.”
