Former Celtics forward Lamar Stevens is headed overseas to continue his NBA career. Stevens signed with Paris Basketball for the upcoming season, the team announced.
Stevens has played in a career 220 NBA games for the Cavaliers, Celtics and Grizzlies from 2020-25. He signed with the C’s ahead of the 2023-24 season, playing in 19 games for Boston before getting traded to Memphis in the Xavier Tillman deal. Now, he gets a chance to play overseas for more playing time. He’s averaged 5.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game throughout his career.
The wing went undrafted in 2020 before getting picked up by the Cavaliers on a two-way contract. Stevens got a healthy amount of playing time in Cleveland, suiting up in 165 games over a three-year period. But since then, he’s played in 55 games over the past two years as he hasn’t gotten as much of an opportunity.
Stevens started last season with the Pistons for training camp before getting waived and playing in the G League. He was picked up by the Grizzlies for a pair of 10-day contracts then was signed for the rest of the season. But the free agent didn’t generate much NBA interest this summer as he ends up going to Paris Basketball.
