Adrien Rabiot is delighted signing for AC Milan.
The former Marseille midfielder made the move this week and was presented by Milan this morning.
Rabiot admits the presence of coach Max Allegri, who he played for at Juventus, was a big influence in his decision.
He said, “I shared a lot with him. I immediately got along well with him at Juve.
As I was saying, he has this ambition, this desire to win, he has the right mentality, he lives with passion for football, which is all I feel.
“We have a great connection. Even when he left Juve, we continued to talk, we even saw each other outside of the club.
For me, before being a great coach, he’s a great person. I’m really happy to have him back here at Milan.”
On Milan, he said: “Great. There’s a group that wants to win, young players who want to learn, a good mix of old and young. I already felt good in training yesterday.
The atmosphere is good. Everyone who works for AC Milan has been available right from the start, kind to me and my family.”
Asked about the background of the move, Rabiot stated: “It happened almost at the end of the transfer window.
I was already talking to the manager when he arrived at Milan, but, as you know, I was at Marseille under contract, tied to the French club.
“Then, when what happened with Marseille happened, Allegri immediately called me again and we talked about the Rossoneri project, the team he wants to build, his ambition to return to the Champions League, to have a good run in the league. And, in the end, everything went quickly.”
Quizzed about his row with Jonathan Rowe, which led to both players being sold – with Rowe now a Bologna player, Rabiot also stated:
“We even spoke when he signed with Bologna and I signed with Milan; we sent each other messages to wish each other well and to tell each other we’ll see each other at San Siro.
It’ll be great to see him, he’s a good guy.
What happened is a dressing room thing, but it hasn’t changed my relationship with him: he’ll be happy to see him and he’ll be happy to see me.”
