Sprinter Azeem wins at the Appalachian State championships.

PETALING JAYA: National sprinter Mohd Azeem Fahmi has won the 100m race at the Appalachian State University Track and Field Championships in Boone, North Carolina on Sunday (May 18).
The 21-year-old Azeem finished first in the final by clocking 10.09s but the time was not reognised as equalling his national record after the wind speed was measured
It was instead recalibrated to 10.12s.
Coastal Carolina’s Deonte Hardy was second with a time of 10.41s, while App State’s Armonte Ferguson came third with 10.43s.
Azeem holds the national 100m record of 10.09s, set at the 2022 World Junior Championships in Cali, Colombia.

Azeem is hoping to improve his rankings to compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Regionals.
