Youngest Nigerian coach bags UEFA B license 5 months after Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu dumped him

Yemi Olanrewaju was the youngest coach in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, during his time at giants Enyimba before Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu sacked him.
Yemi Olanrewaju, the youngest coach in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) during his tenure with Enyimba FC, has achieved a major career milestone by earning his UEFA B coaching license, just months after being dismissed by Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu.
Olanrewaju, 32, was promoted to head coach of Nigeria’s most successful club, Enyimba, following the departure of Finidi George in 2024.

Despite his promising start, he was let go in December after a nine-match winless streak that saw the club drop out of title contention and struggle in both league and continental competitions.
The People’s Elephant ended their relationship, thanked him for his service and wished him well in future endeavors.

Undeterred by his exit, Olanrewaju continued his professional development, completing his UEFA B license under the Scottish FA.
He shared his achievement on social media, writing, “Glad to successfully undertake the UEFA B theory and practical classes under the @ScottishFA and then pass the subsequent examinations. Now a proud UEFA B Certificate holder.

Olanrewaju’s coaching journey has seen him work as an assistant at MFM FC and Vandrezzer FC, as well as with Nigeria’s U-17 national team.
His dedication to education and international exposure, including hands-on training with Stellenbosch FC in South Africa, has positioned him as one of Nigeria’s most progressive young coaches.
With his UEFA B license in hand, Olanrewaju is now set for the next chapter in his coaching career, further establishing himself as a coach to watch in Nigerian and African football.
